Abstract
AHFS CLASS: 28:36.20.08 Nonergot-derivative Dopamine Receptor Agonists Brand: Juvmo® Tavapadon is a nonergot-derivative dopamine receptor agonist. Tavapadon is indicated for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease in adults. Tavapadon is available in the following dosage form(s) and strength(s): Tablets: 0.25 mg, 1 mg, 5 mg, 10 mg, and 15 mg It is essential that the manufacturer's labeling be consulted for more detailed information on dosage and administration of this drug. Dosage summary: ... None. Patients with Parkinson's disease may have an impaired capacity to respond to an orthostatic challenge. In clinical studies and clinical experience, dopaminergic medications appear to impair the systemic regulation of blood pressure, resulting in hypotension and/or orthostatic hypotension, especially during dose escalation. For these reasons, patients with Parkinson's disease being treated with tavapadon should be monitored for signs and symptoms of hypotension/orthostatic hypotension especially during dose escalation, and should be informed of this risk.
