Abstract
Abstract This paper presents a puzzle for theories of causation. On the one hand, it is plausible that events involving impure sets do not have the same causal profile as events involving their individual members. On the other hand, our best theories of causation predict that these events have the same causal profile. Our goal is to develop this dilemma in more detail and to discuss possible responses. In the end, we argue that there is no easy way out.
