Abstract
This study observed the real-world outcomes with avelumab treatment in patients with Merkel cell carcinoma in Germany by immunocompromised status. Objective response rates with first-line avelumab were similar in immunocompromised and immunocompetent patients, however, long-term survival was shorter in the immunocompromised subgroup. Rates of avelumab-related adverse drug reactions were comparable between the subgroups. These findings demonstrate the clinical activity and safety of avelumab in both immunocompetent and immunocompromised patients with Merkel cell carcinoma.
