Abstract
The association between hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) and obesity is widely recognized, and as a result, patients are often counseled to lose weight. Herein, patients with HS shed light on their experiences with weight management, shaped by limited activity due to painful lesions and a profound psychosocial impact. By framing HS as a complex biological disease with a suspected bidirectional relationship with obesity, this article highlights the importance of achieving inflammatory control and identifying actionable opportunities to improve weight management and counseling for patients with HS.
