Abstract
Abstract Sulfur-containing metabolites are promising compounds for food and pharmaceutical applications, but practical screens for yeast mutants with enhanced sulfur metabolism remain limited. We developed a phenotype-based screening workflow in Saccharomyces cerevisiae using a strain expressing a constitutively active Met4 variant. This screening method provides a simple way to isolate yeast mutants with enhanced sulfur metabolism.
