Abstract
Abstract We report the synthesis of the macrocyclic ligand hexasap (H121), which incorporates six ONO-type tridentate ligand sap (salicylidene-aminophenol) units. The ligand was prepared from the bifunctional monomer 2 bearing an o-aminophenol group and an acetal-protected salicylaldehyde group. A hexanuclear Ga complex of hexasap exhibits a well-defined architecture characterized by a regular arrangement of the coordinating ligands within its cavity.
