Abstract
Abstract Aims To evaluate the feasibility, safety, and outcomes of robotic abdominal wall reconstruction performed as day-case surgery in a single NHS trust over a two-year period. Methods A retrospective review was undertaken of 69 consecutive patients who underwent robotic abdominal wall reconstruction between January 2024 and December 2025. Primary outcome measures were length of stay (LOS) and post-operative complications. Day case was defined as a hospital stay of less than 24 hours. Demographic data, operative time, surgical technique, and readmission within 30 days were also collected from electronic records. Outcomes were summarised using descriptive statistics. These findings support the feasibility of day-case robotic surgery and provide a foundation for further prospective evaluation of long-term outcomes and cost-effectiveness.
