Abstract
Abstract This chapter explores the importance of soft skills in achieving independence and managing daily life effectively. It emphasizes essential abilities such as communication, time management, and maintaining a positive attitude, which are vital for young adults transitioning into independent adulthood. The chapter presents activities that help youth practice active listening, strengthen planning skills, and demonstrate enthusiasm in personal and professional contexts. It guides mentors in supporting youth by encouraging discussion, organizing practice sessions, sharing practical strategies, and reviewing workbook materials on school, employer, and family communication. Finally, the chapter highlights collaboration between youth and their support networks to reinforce soft skills that promote success in education, employment, and relationships.
