Abstract
Abstract The nitrosyl ion, NO+, is the dominant molecular ion in the Earth’s ionosphere and has been detected in the atmospheres of other solar system planets. A comprehensive and accurate rotation-vibration line list, the NOPE line list, for the X 1Σ+ (ground electronic) state of 14N16O+ is presented and tested against empirical data. This line list is applicable up to temperatures of 5000 K. The NOPE line list contains a total of 3,881 rovibrational states with 54,434 transitions between them. A total of 41 vibrational states are considered for rotational states with j ≤100. The NOPE line list is available from the ExoMol database at www.exomol.com.
