Abstract
We highlight several considerations relevant to interpretation of mortality findings in a large French multicentre cohort study of mucous membrane pemphigoid (MMP). Potential residual confounding, reliance on all-cause mortality, heterogeneity within ENT subgroups, and limited longitudinal treatment exposure may affect interpretation of MMP-attributable mortality estimates. Further studies incorporating cause-specific mortality and more granular phenotypic characterization may help clarify mortality risk across MMP clinical subgroups.
