Abstract
Abstract We report the preparation and structural characterization of a novel mononuclear Sn(II) complex, [Sn(HBA)2(H2O)3]·7H2O (1), synthesized from Sn2+ ion and bromanilic acid (H2BA). Complex 1 has a rare seven-coordinate geometry among Sn(II)-based complexes. In the crystal structure, intermolecular π–π interactions and hydrogen bonding result in helical columnar assemblies, which further organize into a supramolecular three-dimensional framework structure with capsule-shaped voids.
