Abstract
Abstract In rechargeable air batteries, the positive electrode is required to catalyze both the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) in the charging process and the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) in the discharging process. In the present study, a mixed catalyst composed of iridium oxide (IrOx) and platinum (Pt) was employed, and its performance was evaluated in our original all-solid-state rechargeable air batteries (SSABs). Because each component functioned well in the positive electrode for the OER and ORR, respectively, the resulting SSAB exhibited improved performance and cyclability.
