Abstract
Lay Summary Brahman cattle are well adapted to tropical environments but still face pregnancy loss, mainly due to heat stress. By combining genetic and weather data from Bolivian herds, this study showed that both genetics and genotype-by-environment interactions affect reproductive success. Some animals remained resilient under heat stress, while others were more vulnerable. These findings highlight the potential to select cattle that are both reproductively efficient and heat-resilient, enabling breeding programs to reduce pregnancy loss and support more sustainable beef production under climate change.
