Abstract
Abstract Solvent-soluble polymers were synthesized to prevent cross-linking reactions by polymerizing bio-based bisepoxide, cyclic anhydride, and glycerol without any catalyst. Polymerization of a bisepoxide with trans-limonene oxide (trans-LO) moieties afforded solvent-soluble polymers with higher number-average molecular weights in higher yields than those with cis-LO moieties. The resultant soluble polymer bearing reactive hydroxy groups successfully cross-linked with diisocyanate.
