Abstract
The biosynthetic gene cluster for PF1451A (1), a potent fungicidal peptide, was identified, showing 1 is a member of ribosomally synthesized and post-translationally modified peptides of fungal origin. Notably, a hypothetical protein belonging to IPR053008 family was involved in the desaturation of valine residue. Bioinformatic analysis demonstrated wide distribution of similar proteins in the fungal genomes.
