Abstract
HIV-exposed uninfected (HEU) children experience increased early-life morbidity, but dermatologic outcomes have not been well studied. In this retrospective cohort study of 262 HEU individuals matched to 499 HIV-unexposed controls, HEU participants had significantly higher prevalence of candidiasis, eczema, seborrheic dermatitis, and skin/soft tissue infections. These findings highlight dermatologic disease as an under-recognized contributor to HEU morbidity and underscore the need to explore underlying mechanisms.
