Abstract
Abstract Al environment in zeolites is one of the crucial factors determining their application performance. Although various strategies have been explored to control the Al environment, significant challenges remain in optimizing the synthesis conditions. Here, we report a postsynthetic approach for tuning the Al environment of FAU-type zeolite through hydrothermal treatment in the presence of fluoride species. This treatment induces partial reconstruction of silicate and aluminate species, thereby leading to change in acidity.
