Abstract
This chapter presents an overview of the history of the positron emission particle tracking technique, presented from the vantage point of one of its original pioneers, Professor David Parker. It provides a unique, first-hand account of PEPT’s evolution from a niche offshoot of positron emission tomography to a powerful and widely-used tool, detailing key moments in its development, and introducing the people and places involved therein, as well as recounting some amusing anecdotes, including a now-infamous incident involving radioactive crisps.
