Abstract
In this chapter, the use of Auger electrons as potential cancer therapeutics in clinical setting is discussed. The chapter highlights the fact that clinical dosimetry is still some way from incorporating absorbed dose at the scale at which dose deposition occurs with Auger electron-emitting radionuclides. In this regard, Monte Carlo modelling plays an essential part in characterising the dose effect relationship of Auger electron-emitters.
