Abstract
Ureteroinguinal hernia is a rare clinical entity with only a few cases reported in the literature. Pre-operative diagnosis is difficult and most cases are diagnosed intra-operatively. We present a case of ureteroinguinal hernia in a 60-year-old male who presented with right inguinal swelling. Pre-operative imaging was inconclusive. Laparoscopic exploration revealed the presence of the right ureter as a content of the inguinal hernia sac. The ureter was reduced and an onlay mesh repair was performed. The patient recovered well. We emphasize the role of laparoscopy in the diagnosis and management of such cases.
