Abstract
The Rb-Sr isotopic age of the Ammonoosuc Volcanics in New England has been determined as 460+ or -15 m.y. with an initial Sr (87/86) ratio of 0.706+ or -0.001. This isotopic age is consistent with the Middle Ordovician age to which the Ammonoosuc Volcanics are assigned on geologic evidence.
