Abstract
Polymeric anions do not contribute appreciably to the depression of the freezing point in fused salt systems. Alpha CaSiO ~3~ and diopside form nearly perfect solutions containing polymeric anions, with respective heats of fusion of approximately 14,000 and 22,000 cals mole (super -1) . Alpha CaSiO ~3~ forms imperfect solutions with CaF ~2~ , for which mean ionic activity coefficients have been calculated.
