Abstract
In two patients, a sensory neuronopathy was the initial presentation of Sjögren9s syndrome. There was no systemic or peripheral nerve vasculitis. Immunochemical studies failed to demonstrate specific antibodies against the nervous system. These features suggest that the damage to the sensory neurons might not be mediated by humoral immune mechanisms.
