Abstract
Data on the P-T stability of magnesite in equilibrium with vapors containing carbon dioxide and water are utilized to obtain values for the fugacity of CO ~2~ in these vapors. The ratio of the fugacity of CO ~2~ in the mixture to that of pure CO ~2~ at the same T and P is found to be considerably greater than the mole fraction of CO ~2~ .
