Abstract
Includes notes on extrusive and intrusive igneous activity and presents a stratigraphic sequence for the area of Arequipa-Moquegua-Tacna, Peru. Tertiary volcanics form a large proportion of the stratigraphic sequence, with an aggregate thickness of 4,000 meters. The remainder of the sequence includes pre-Cambrian gneiss, late Paleozoic igneous and sedimentary formations, Jurassic, Cretaceous, and Quaternary rocks.
