Abstract
"Upper Aptian belemnoidea from Mozambique gave results showing low temperatures comparable with those prevailing in the Crimea and significantly cooler than figures obtained from western Europe. This is probably due to geographic separation from the Cretaceous equator which may have run through southern Europe into Israel, i.e. more or less coincident with the rudistid belt. The temperatures are consistent with a slight polar displacement."
