Abstract
The ooids are characterized by several sets of concentric or nonconcentric rings with intercalations of an argillaceous calcilutite which also forms nuclei and the interstitial matrix of the deposit. Complex ooids are usual in almost all oolitic limestones, but their abundance in carbonate rocks of the Virginia localityity is striking.\--H.C.W.S
