Abstract
Abstract Fluoride-induced 1,2-elimination of o-trimethylsilylphenyl triflate provided a convenient route to benzyne under mild conditions where detriflation from an intermediary aryl anion appeared to occur in preference to protonation even in the presence of alcohols.
