Abstract
Rhyolitic tuffs intercalated in early Tertiary basalt flows at three localities in east Iceland are believed to be genetically related to more extensive occurrences of silicic rocks which intrude the basalts, and constitute evidence that silicic igneous activity in the region may have been contemporaneous with extrusion of the basalts.
