Abstract
Detailed study of nonmarine pelecypod assemblages of the Carboniferous Coal Measures of Lancashire, England, leads to the conclusion that sedimentation rates and bottom turbulence were the predominant factors controlling the abundance, growth, and mortality rates of the pelecypods.
