Abstract
"Concentration of olivine phenocrysts in the lower part of pillows and, in places, of vesicles in the upper part are noted in a basaltic lava of southwestern Iceland. Gravitative settling of olivine during early stages of cooling of the pillows when viscosity was still unusually low and floating of vesicles, perhaps at a somewhat later stage, are offered as explanation of the concentrations."
