Abstract
Abstract This volume provides a comprehensive account of the systematic vegatative anatomy of the plant family Iridaceae. The iris family includes several horticulturally important genera, such as Iris Crocus, Gladiolus and Freesia, and many others of potential horticultural value. The book contains much original information, and places it in the context of the taxonomy and relationships of the plants concerned. It also summarizes the relevant literature. Like its predecessors in the Anatomy of the Monocotyledons series, Volume VIII: Iridaceae will be an essential reference work for students and professionals in botany and horticulture.
