Abstract
Relative ages are determined by topographic position, weathering features, lichenometry, vegetation characteristics, and soils. A four-fold sequence is identified and correlated with the Gannett Peak, Audubon, and Indian Basin advances of Neoglaciation and the late-Pinedale Glaciation in the Wind River Range (Wyo.), Front Range (Colo.), Wallowa Mountains (Oreg.), and Mount Adams (Cascade Range, Wash.). On a floristic basis, only differences in species composition are present between substrates of Neoglacial age. Most species collected on Neoglacial deposits in Jaw Cirque are identified in other parts of the Teton Range on deposits of similar age, and no vascular plant species is useful in discriminating between the stratigraphic units.--Modified journal abstract.
