Abstract
Takes exception to the hypothesis that differentiation in thick dolerite sills takes place by a stoping mechanism involving the settling of relatively large blocks of crystal mush, as proposed in a recent paper by Jaeger and Joplin, rather than by gravitational settling of individual crystals. A rejoinder by Jaeger and Joplin, and further discussion by H. H. Hess are appended.
