Abstract
Poldervaart and Parker reply to discussion by Thornton and Tuttle (ibid., p. 277-279) that the crystallization index is as good as the differentiation index for igneous series not showing iron enrichment, but is more generally applicable because it represents variation also when there is iron enrichment.
