Abstract
Three associations of Cenozoic volcanic rocks lie along the northern, south-central, and southern portions of an easterly convex arc 800 miles long occupying most of New Zealand. The geologic environment, tectonic history, and sequence of igneous events in each petrographic province are summarized. Of 200 available rock analyses 50 are of richly salic products of residual magmas.
