Abstract
This scholarly article explores the position of women within the framework of Islamic jurisprudence by critically analyzing classical and contemporary legal discourses. It examines how Islamic legal theory (Usul al-Fiqh) and various schools of thought have interpreted women's rights and responsibilities in areas such as education, work, marriage, inheritance, and public life. The study highlights both the empowering aspects of Islamic teachings and the socio-cultural factors that have historically limited women’s roles. A comparative discussion is also presented between textual mandates and socio-legal practices in the Muslim world. The aim is to contribute to the academic discourse surrounding gender justice in Islamic law through a balanced and contextual understanding.
