Abstract
The basis of Sharia is the Quran and Hadith, and in this Quran and Hadith there are principles for the guidance and success of all humanity. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) called people to Allah and worked hard to guide people. The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) also followed this path and dedicated their lives to the advancement of religion. They memorized the hadiths of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) exactly as they had heard them. Then the Thabieen also continued to serve the religion in the same way, including Imam Abu Hanifa. For the first time, He compiled the principles of jurisprudence and dedicated Himself to deducing issues. However, seeing their preoccupation with deducing issues of jurisprudence, some ignorant people said that he was not skilled in hadith, although deducing issues of jurisprudence is not possible without a collection of hadiths. In this article, the position of Imam Abu Hanifa in hadith will be explained, as well as the opinions of the scholars of hadith about him; his sayings in Jarah wa Tadeel will be explained, and those scholars who did not understand his position or spoke against him due to prejudice will be answered. The position of Imam Abu Hanifa in hadith will be explained from the books of the scholars of hadith and from the reliable books of other scholars. This article will prove that Imam Abu Hanifa was also a great hadith scholar. Like other hadith scholars, he remembered countless hadiths. He was also very skilled in Rijal, Jarah wa Tadeel, and the principles of hadith.
