Abstract
Divorce is considered an undesirable act in Islam but is permitted when marital life becomes untenable. It is not merely the utterance of a word but an act that triggers the application of several significant Shariah rulings, adherence to which is obligatory for both spouses. However, in contemporary times, many shortcomings are observed in the observance of these rules. This research article provides a comprehensive review of the Shariah regulations associated with divorce, aiming to highlight their importance and foster a deeper understanding of their application. The study draws upon the teachings of the Qur'an, the Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH), and classical Islamic jurisprudence while also addressing modern societal issues related to divorce. The objective is to promote awareness and compliance with Islamic principles governing post-divorce matters, ensuring justice, balance, and adherence to divine guidance in resolving familial disputes and maintaining social harmony within the framework of Islamic law۔
