Abstract
Akarsu peyzajı, insan kullanımı için uygun alanlar oluşturan doğal çeşitliliğe sahip alanlardır. Bu peyzajların kentsel ve kırsal alanlarda restorasyonu, estetik, ekolojik ve rekreasyonel faydalar sağlamaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, kentsel alanlarda su kaynaklarının yönetilmesi ve peyzajın ekolojik bütünlüğünün sağlanması, kentsel alanlarda doğal yaşam alanlarının yeniden canlandırılması ve toplumun doğayla bütünleşmesine yönelik önemli bir model sunmaktır. Akarsu peyzajları restorasyonunun önemi vurgulandıktan sonra Suining Güney Kıyı Parkı örneğinde ekolojik planlama prensipleri doğrultusunda belirlenen kriterler ve bu süreçte uygulanan yöntemler ele alınmaktadır. Parkın çevresel kalitesini artırmak ve sürdürülebilir bir kentsel peyzaj oluşturmak iklim değişikliği ile mücadele etmeye katkı sağlaması beklenmektedir. Doğal yaşamın korunması ve kent sakinlerinin doğayla daha sıkı bir bağ kurması amacıyla yapılan bu tür iyileştirme çalışmaları, çevresel sürdürülebilirlik açısından önem taşımaktadır.
