Abstract
This research aims to investigate the trends and quality of television programs in three different Yemeni satellite channels: "Al-Hawyah", "Yemen Today", and " Al-Mahriah ". It focuses on the program contents and their impact on the audience, using a descriptive analytical method. The research addresses several questions regarding the main program contents of these channels, types of contents, points of agreement and difference between them, artistic methods used, main topics, and reasons for the weak influence on the audience. The study includes an analysis of three prominent political programs belonging to each channel. The research shows that Al-Mahriah channel primarily focuses on political programs, while Al-Hawiyah is distinguished for its social programs. The research reveals varied approaches in content presentation among these channels; Al-Hawyah adopts a descriptive approach, Al-Mahriah combines analytical and critical styles, and Yemen Today uses both descriptive and critical approaches. In the field of news coverage, Al-Hawyah and Yemen Today follow a supportive approach, whereas Al-Mahriah adopts a neutral stance.
