Abstract
Leopold shaft is situated in the Solivar part of the town of Presov, object (object of National Cultural Monument Gapla). Strong ascent of the level of natural salt brine resulted in the change of stress state of rock massif with subsequent deformation of shaft reinforcement and endangering stability of its surroundings and possibly affecting the surface. After the thorough evaluation of the findings the mining complex was to be liquidated. The shaft liquidation will consist of the system of independent, yet indivisible measures that will ensure long-term safety of the surface surrounding the Leopold shaft.
