Abstract
Dans cet article, on retrouve un décret présenté par un maire obscur d'une ville de Rondônia (Brésil) qui déclare Jésus Christ comme seul Seigneur et Sauveur de la ville, pour expliquer quelques tensions vécues dans un pays républicain qui vit un élargissement de sa vie démocratique. On prétend que le maire, ainsi que d'autres concitoyens, lorsqu'ils se servent des instruments d'exercice du pouvoir républicain, n'ont pas connaissance de la logique interne ni du développement historique de ces instruments. D'autre part, les néophytes s'approprient des instruments républicains animés par des sentiments flous et indéterminés, qui se traduisent par une imagination travaillée selon des aptitudes infuses.
