Con el seudónimo de Los Tres Búhos, tres jóvenes universitarios arremetieron contra la obra literaria de Luis López de Mesa, Eduardo Castillo y León de Greiff, y lo hicieron en las páginas de la revista Universidad, en los números que se publicaron entre el 19 de junio y el 3 de agosto de 1929. Al comienzo de la página preliminar titulada El diálogo de los Tres Búhos se lee la siguiente nota.
