Abstract
In this article we present demographic data from the elderly population of the municipalities that integrate of Corede from Vale do Rio Pardo based in demographic censuses the years 2000 and 2010 from Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). Initially it approaches the demographic profile of the elderly population with emphasis in aspects as the situation of domicile (urban and rural), age group and gender. Considering the development of a certain territory depends, among other factors, ensuring that all subjects have decent living conditions, highlights the importance of the elderly population from Vale do Rio Pardo have an satisfactorily aging, as recommended by the World Health Organization.
