Abstract
Atatürk’ ün hangi konuda, ne tür kitaplar okuduğuna ilişkin en güvenilir kaynak “Atatürk’ün Özel Kütüphanesi Kataloğu”dur. Atatürk’ün özel kütüphanesinde, kitap ve süreli yayın olmak üzere 10.000 cildin üzerinde eser bulunmaktadır. Atatürk, ilgilendiği konularda sadece kendi kütüphanesinde bulunan eserlerden değil, başka kütüphanelerdeki özellikle İstanbul Üniversitesi Merkez Kütüphanesi’ ndeki kitaplardan da yararlanmıştır. Atatürk’ün okuduğu kitaplar incelendiğinde, O’nun eşsiz bir kumandan ve devlet başkam kimliğinin yanı sıra bir düşün ve kültür kimliğinin varlığı bir kez daha ortaya çıkmaktadır.
