Abstract
A técnica de Angioplastia Coronária Transluminal Percutânea (PTCA) ou simplesmente Angioplastia Coronária (AC) realizada via transradial tem se despontado nos últimos anos como um avanço na terapia de revascularização miocárdica percutânea. Até então a AC percutânea era realizada somente pela via femoral (punção de artéria femoral), ou opcionalmente pela via braquial (dissecção da artéria braquial). A evolução tecnológica crescente dos materiais empregados na cardiologia intervencionista permitiu que, apesar do seu calibre relativamente pequeno, a artéria radial fosse utilizada como uma via de acesso para a realização de AC.
