Abstract
Introducción: El embarazo en la adolescencia es un problema de salud a nivel mundial y los jóvenes cubanos no escapan a este. Objetivo: Determinar el comportamiento del embarazo en las adolescentes del policlínico "Aleida Fernández Chardiet", en el periodo 2005-2008. Métodos: Se realizó un estudio descriptivo de corte transversal, en un universo de 90 adolescentes que se embarazaron y tuvieron su parto en el periodo 2005- 2008 y se atendieron en el área de salud "Aleida Fernández Chardiet", se excluyeron las que no residían en al área en el momento del estudio. Se empleó el estudio bibliográfico, documental y se compararon criterios de diferentes autores como procedimiento teórico, además se utilizaron procedimientos empíricos. Resultados: Existió un predominio de la nuliparidad en el 86,7 % de las adolescentes, la distocia del parto se presentó en el 44,5 % y la totalidad de los recién nacidos bajo peso se presentaron en las gestantes desnutridas. Conclusiones: El embarazo en la adolescencia continúa siendo un problema de salud en nuestra área y en el país, la adecuada implementación del programa de control del riesgo preconcepcional, y la detección y control oportunos de los factores de riesgo asociados a este, seguirán siendo pilares fundamentales para su manejo.

Objective:To determine the behavior of pregnancy in adolescents from the "Aleida Fernández Chardiet" polyclinic between 2005 and 2008. Methods: A cross-sectional and descriptive study was conducted in 90 adolescents got pregnant and had a labor from 2005-2008 seen in health area of above polyclinic, excluding those not resident in such area at study moment. Authors used the bibliographic, documentary study comparing the criteria of different authors as a theoretical procedure, and empirical. Results: There was predominance of nulliparity in the 86.7 % of adolescents, labor dystocia in the 44.5 % and all the low birth weight in the malnourished pregnants. Conclusions: Pregnancy in adolescence continues being a health problem in our area and in our country, the appropriate implementation of the program of pre-conception risk, and the timely detection and control of risk factors associated with it, remains fundamental for its management.
