Abstract
Social and cultural factors that influences high rates of surgical delivery procedury and nursing care. Pregnancy and delivery do not characterize only as biological factos. These are also, social process, reflecting society values, cultural and economic aspects. As an aim we souht to identify how nurses orientate about delivery kinds to pregnants. We chose a qualitative approach througlin observation and semi-strutured interview with nurses who assists pregnants in public and private hospitals in goiânia. The results showed us that pain is the main factor that interfer on the choice to normal delivery, folowed by estetics aspects. We observed that nurses from public health services, are involved in the educational process about normal delivery, but this situation didnt happens on private hospitals.
