Abstract
El artículo hace una revisión crítica de la llamada «unificación del alfabeto inga», que fue adoptada en 1991 tras un proceso participativo dirigido por la organización Musu Runakuna. Las observaciones son hechas desde el uso de este sistema en el colegio bilingüe Aborígenes de Colombia de Yunguillo, Mocoa, Putumayo, con base en consideraciones fonológicas, filológicas, de la tradición de la escritura del quechua y de orden didáctico. Se fundamenta una propuesta alternativa para entablar un debate con el fundamento de la actual ortografía. Se argumenta que, si bien los acuerdos políticos para un uso de la lengua son determinantes en su adopción, estos deberían tomarse tras un debate lingüístico que las soporte.
